AC intake?

Ive read very little about Air Conditioned Intakes, had anyone done this? or is it more strain on the engine than its worth?

I have read about and seen a few systems using refridgerant to cool the intake charge in turbo charged cars. Some were driven by the engine, and one had an indenpendent compressor hooked up two like 8 batteries in a series.
I think if you were to do this, it would be worth it on a forced induction car, but only to a point. The one with the indenpendent system was a bit heavy, but it was in a Alfa Romeo so the extra wieght wasnt a huge penalty for a turbo intercooled v6 that made about 380hp.

I just say go get a good intercooler if u have a turbo/sc, and if for a NA application, its not worth it, fab up a good cold air intake and it should do ya fine.

The New Lightnings are supposed to have AC blowing across the intercooler for short amounts of time
