"thats where the LS1 comes in...in the vettes anyway. my friend gets 34 mpg quite often! "
That's what happens when you put a big efficient engine in a car that weighs a little over a ton. So nice.
The LG4 & Th700 in the Z28 gets 24-26mpg but it's an all most new engine (95% stock rebuild). It needs a tune up too.

are you talking about the honda video? because that was kilowatts (kW) not hp; 115kW = 154hp

and the 15km/liter is about 35mpg

15km/perliter
I dont' even remember seeing that, must have skiped a part when it was streaming .
35mpg isn't that great. There are some display cars at the BX (same as cars they sell back home) that get that much and there not hybrid or direct injection or any thing like that.
What's even worse it operates on 3 valves while cruising to get that super gas mileage. I here ricers saying that the 1 valve intake design is so inefficent. But, that's why there ricers.
How much do the new vettes weigh, have they goten fat over the years?
If you can get a V8 third gen down to 2800 lb, a stock vette better weigh a lot less then that.

Good luck, who’s got a v8 third gen that’s 2800? Not without stripping everything but the drivetrain, steering wheel and maybe and egg crate for a seat. A light, semi stripped third gen is usually in the 3200# range. My formula 350 with all the emissions stuff, AC, extra heater lines/bypass, cruise control, spare, back seats, just about anything not strapped down stripped out of it, no gas weighed 3710 at the track last time (I was roughly 300# of that).

Since the C3, every generation of vette started in the 3200-3300# range and pretty much got heavier as the generation progressed.

Re: 65:1 air fuel ratio??

There is a guy over on thirdgen.org before it went down he was at around 3000lb's and counting. His goal is 2800lb's.
I would post a link but it thirdgen.org is still down.
It's called some thing like "late night quest for 2800lb's".
He had a 2 page on going thred on the fabrication forum.
I saw pics it was quite striped out, he is going as far a replacing the rear bumper bar with an Al one.

Yea, I’m subbed to that thread over there… and that was basically the gist of that thread also, that no street going f-body is anywhere close to that.
