4 Bolt Main Splay Question

I've noticed several choices on main caps for a 4 bolt conversion. What is the proper degree for an LT1 block? I've seen 18 degree and 22 degree. Which is correct?

Re: 4 Bolt Main Splay Question

Pro-Gram Engineering makes a 12 degree splayed cap that will clear the dipstick tube on the LT1. I've used lots of them. Most other caps require grinding a notch and a small headed bolt. I know first hand that they're good to 765 rwhp.

Re: 4 Bolt Main Splay Question

Sometimes that happens when they are out of stock, I also get them from a parts distributor at the same price who has them in stock sometimes. Silver-seal is my second choice. http://www.silver-seal.com/Index.cfm?p=365
