383 stalls at 5700 come help
Hi everybody need a little help here is my datamaster run
http://www.sharemation.com/stllt1/383le3heads.uni
If you have datamaster look at my map, afgs, rpm, and inj dc it seems to stall at 5700 rpm. My map drops to 91 and maf says its not breathing evenly like up and down what would make my afgs and map fall like that. I was thinking that it was a couple things a spike of too much fuel or my spark is weak my coil and opti has 6k on it everything is brand new on this car. what do think about the fuel inj dc 85% at 5900 rpm is that to much with 36 pound injectors???? i have no misses up top. no black out the back and wide band is at 12 to 1. but i might have a header leak. i really dont think it is valve float because of good springs and comp r. please help car only went 12.4 at 109 mph????

Re: 383 stalls at 5700 come help
You need to post problems like this on the "LT1 Engine Tech" or "Computer...." forums. I suspect that's why you aren't getting any responses here on Advanced Tech. Additionally, by posting the data in ".uni" format, you are limiting the number of people who can look at your data to DataMaster owners. By using the "export as .csv" option in DataMaster, you can have files that those of us who prefer to use Excel to manipulate the data can look at.
I'll leave the thread here.... you do what you want with it on the other forums.

Re: 383 stalls at 5700 come help
I looked it over in both formats. I have a few questions. First I see two things that if my hunch is right could be masking a problem. It appears you are forcing 128BLMs at WOT. which is fine BUT it also appears the knock Sensor in not working or is tunned out. I did not see ANY knock sensed Anywhere. To me this is odd as there is usually SOME some where in the graph no matter how good the tune is.
By doing both of thiese there can be problems if there is truely some knock retard needed. the tune does go a little lean according to the stock sensors. I almost NEVER tune that lean with a LT1/4 on stock sensors. After wide band tunning you can usually see some go there but many times it won't
Other then that Nothing is jumping out at me. The MAF is just reporting the effects of the problem

yes the lt4 knock module is not programed in right now i will add it back in again and do another run do you guys think that the map gets to low something is happening what should the o2 millivolts be at. i have put it on a wide band and it looked fine but i am going to get a inovative wide band for my self this week

Re: 383 stalls at 5700 come help
The Datamaster info notwithstanding, are you sure you don't have too much preload on those lifters, and are not hanging valves open?
I say this because I have been there with those Comp R's. Would spin up to about 6 grand, and then hits a wall. Happens with too much preload on those particular lifters. They need to see about 1/16-1/8" turn past zero lash.
Just a thought...

Bob nrought up A good thing to check. I like to set Comp "R"s zero to 1/16th myself.
I did notice you MAP readings. they should be higher but did not seem to be an issue

Actually, you can download Datamaster for free and look at as many files as you want for free. You get 20 free runs on acquisition then you have to register to do any more acq. However, even once all the reads have been used, you can still playback all you want.
Does sound to me like the lifters are a little tight, too.

ok here are the files, the first one is with the rockers set looser not much change
http://www.sharemation.com/stllt1/looserrockers.csv
now i went out and set them so loose that they make lots of noise now but there not bouncing up and down right there at zero lash i think. if you notice my map at idle is VERY LOW thats weird. whats normal for my cam
http://www.sharemation.com/stllt1/ev...rlow%20map.csv
i thinking that some thing is going on like bad springs or bad comp r's
could this be an ignition problem i know its not the coil could be an opti.
im starting to think these lifters are the problem because the car has never run better while they are loose. I am going to try to adjust them one more time, looser because i might have one or two still tight but i dont think so
whats going on your about to see a big man cry
