12 bolt strange Question

I toasted my posi this weekend and need to know how to tell if it is a series 3 or for carrier. It is a 33 spline 4:10 geared rear, but strange has informed me that it could go either way. Does anyone know what the numbers on the ring gear mean as far as what carrier they use? Thanks in advance for any information I get in regards to this.

I have a strange 12 bolt as well. 2 things you may be able to do. Call them up, they should have a build sheet on file. two, on my rear end, on the top right of the pumpkin, they engraved what they did to it and the guy's initials that setup the rear.

Hope it helps.

Check the shipping papers that came with the unit. It should show the specific components they used to build the unit, including the carrier part #/size.

In general, this isn't Advanced Tech.

I found out that it is a 3 series carrier due to an X on the gear as a part number. G01 888 411X 37-9 U.S.A. H9 The rear was bought used so no paper work and not to be a smartazz, but if this isn't advanced then why couldn't anyone I called give me the info I needed or you for that matter? Again not trying to stir things up, but if you are going to correct me on the placement of the post as if it is common knowledge then please at least give the knowledge that is so common. I do have some easier questions that I will post else where about where to find a spool for this 33 splined 3 series carrier POS.

Thanks all

Thumbs down

Come on, don't be an @ss.

Fred was trying to direct you to guys that can help. If it's a simple cataloging issue, give Strange a call. Advance Tech is for discussing advanced or unusual technology not covered in other forums, and in depth chemistry/physics/metalurgy/etc...

Finding a part number isn't what I'd consider in line with the goals of this forum.

This post does not belong here... plain and simple. Looking up part #'s is NOT advanced tech. This is the kind of thing a simple call to Strange would have handled.

You apparently also missed the part that says "if you don't agree with the moderator, take it offline in a private message. Do not post your objections".
