I use to race a 1000 hp n/a small-block... one of Sonny's creations. It took over 500 cid and close to 10k rpm to do it though. And no, I didn't drive the car to work.

Re: 1000hp N/a

old PST motors are floating around now cheap as can be. Even with the old port technology of the gm splayed head, with todays lobe technology you should be able to come by a 1000NA 358 for under $20k ready to fire.

Thanks
Dennis

Top Sportsman cars don't exactly make for good daily transportation. Although I'm sure some here would disagree....

Maybe when it was time to replace springs and lifters anyway,a quick squirt down to Burger King or something would be worth some serious style points.Ever tried to eat a whopper in a funny car cage?

I thought PST motors were putting out 8xx HP when the class was around?
has the cam technology gotten that much better.Although i guess the Hp levels werent exactly advertised to the public when they were around.
about what specs would a cam like that have, generally?
