Would Suicide/Diablo Doors be an easy/cheap idea?

Hello, this is my first post. I just bought an 88 IROC 305TPI, and I wanted to ask a question about the looks of the car. How hard would suicide doors or Diablo doors be to install? How much would it cost for the hinges and the necessary parts needed to make this modification. I know the idea isn't original but I just want to do this for the attention factor.

Please help...

Ah, it would be possible

There is one kit that does it, it changes the whole look of the camaro, not for my blood, especially not the price, very high price for alittle thing like that. And it doesn't keep a single line of the original car.
In that kit the doors swing semi Diablo style, sorta out to the side and up, I was going to get it back when I had the spare change, but the look of it seems like it would hit the car parked next to you in a parking lot.

I've never seen a complete diablo style changeover, as its almost impossible to do without altering the trim on the hood and by the windshield, because the doors have to open at a 90 dagree angle, which would interfer with almost everything on the way up, I've ask afew body shops, the cost of that kind of work from a body shop would be extreme.

Suicide doors on the other hand sounds just odd... Its a 2 door, so you just want them to open in the opposite direction, sounds cool, but with such heavy doors, you would have to find a way to get rid of the sag all together, as I would figure the danger of the door opening while driving would be alittle to much to put chance to, given, not ever f-body has horrible doors, but they are heavy, and with the air pressure on the opening part of the door while driving, I don't know, I wouldn't do it.

Plus getting out of your car with suicide doors would be insane, maybe its just because I'm tall, but I already have to grab the roof to pull myself out, I mean, now that I think about it, it would be easier to get out... but a pain in the *** to actually get into
you would have to get past the steering wheel and such, and the door would only beable to open so far before you hit a car next to you, major insurence risk.

I'll think Abit more on it, and look around, maybe I will post afew urls in abit.

Suicide doors would definatly be a cool idea, But if you recall how the doors drop slightly when they open, and go up to make a tight seal when their latched, This would be hard to reproduce on the opposite side. Suicide doors would probaly cost a hell of a lot of money too.

They only drop if they are wore out, properly adjusted and with good hinges they close without lifting any. Neither of my doors has any drop.

Most definately not. Our doors are larger than many others and hence heavier. You'd need some really heavy hinges at the other side to make sure it doesn't move for starters. You'd also have to relocate your wiring if you have power windows and locks. It could be done but I'm not sure what you would gain other than to say I have those kinda doors.
