Will a v6 alternator work on a v8?

I have a basically brand new alternator from an 88 v6 camaro and I was considering installing it on my 91 z28 since the old one seems to be going bad. Visually, the only difference between the two is that the v6 alternator has an additional bracket (but it wont get in the way of anything). Everything else is in the same spot. Does anyone have a reason that they think this will not work?

See if the casing is the same design compared to the V8 one, and examine the pulley to see if it's the same as well. Should work fine.
