I have an 88' IROC-Z
I'm from Houston, Tx all of my friends and those that I hang with have IROCs, or Z28s.
If anyone doesn't notice the "IROC-Z" on the doors, they're sure to notice the big red z28 badge on my dash. I'm sure GM had a good reason for leaving the z28 badge on the IROC-Zs. I don't get mad at people who can't tell the difference, I just feel sorry for them.

lol well i have a 1990 iroc with no stickers on the outside but obviously i dont mind when people ask me about my iroc. You also have to think that IROC is the one thing that defined the third gen because no other gen had that while there are other gens that are z28's. What pains me is definitly when someone walks up to me and says yo thats awesome what type of car is it?

actually, yes. Alot of Firebirds ( not all ) had V-6's ( that's a pretty big difference ), not to mention the T/A ground effects/graphics and the suspension upgrade as well. I guess that's about the same as a Camaro and an IROC-Z, no?

i dont like talking about fords, but a saleen doesnt come from the same factory as a regular mustang therefore it is not production...i believe trans-ams are both factory mass produced cars...saleen is not

yeah...but didnt the pre 98 WS6's go off to SLP to be put together? sort of the same concept. But I agree...the saleen is more of a tuner car.

I think in the case of Steve Saleen, the cars go to his shop as regular mustangs and he refurbishes them from there, he doesn't "build them from scratch" so to speak.

The correct badging for a 86-90 is Camaro IROC-Z and people just shorten to IROC. Originally all IROC started as Z-28's then the IROC option was added, NOTE! OPTION.

I still just hate it when someone claims you own an IROC, when they seem to have just overlooked the big spoiler in the back, different wheels, side ground effects, etc, and common knowledge that IROC ended early 90 (or 89, whenever the hell it was). No I dont drive a Dodge Daytona.
