What to use to strip my IROC's??

I was wondering if any of you guys have stripped the paint off of your rims and what you used. I bought a set of Gold IROC's at a swap meet and I want to paint my car and the gold just ain't gonna cut it with the rest of the car. I need something that isn't going to bother the tires or valvestems and that is going to get all the paint off without harming the rims. Thanks.

I like to tape off the tires and stems and blast with fine desert sand.

Problem with chemical stripper is that it tends to go where you don't want it, and if even a tiny amount stays behind in a crevice, it will bleed out later and cause peels.

When using aircraft stripper you have to treat the wheel after washing it. I take vingar and wash the wheel down. After that just wash them again and it will be fine. If you really want them to look good plan on sanding the wheels for about 30 hours by hand and they will look like chrome. You can do the same thing with the paint on the car. If you have any body work it will buckle it. Then you will have to redo the body work.
When using the aircraft stripper take some sand paper and rough up the paint. Don't cut down to the metal tho. This will make the stripper work faster. The stripper cost about $25.00 a gallon. It takes a couple of coats to take the paint off.
I polish wheels and parts. It takes time to lean how to work with the stripper. Hope this helps.
