The information I have from the cam tech article over at http://www.thirdgen.org/ says that cam has an LSA of 117.

Just seeing how much chip work I am in for....The Crate cam has an LS of 112 or 112.5.......Stock chip definitely will not work...Hypertech thermomaster will have to do for break in period!!!!!

Thanks

My cam is a 110* LSA and ran on the stock chip. Might I suggest trying the ARAP.bin? That one would better suit your needs especially for breakin. 112* LSA cam would be a dream to tune compared to the 110*. You have it made FYI the Speed Density cars had a 114* LSA... Some earlier 3rd gens had 108*LSA stock. As long as you use the ARAP.bin I know you will be OK.

Remember to turn the fan's on in the ARAP.bin. They are set much too high and the 2nd fan doesn't come on until around 220* I believe. ( I haven't looked in a while) Turn it down to about 180* or so.

Good Luck!

I hate to break it to you, but your super-duper Hypertech chip is nothing more than a stock chip with some more timing at wide open throttle, and the fans turned on sooner.
And I think your stock chip will work just fine with a 350 HO engine.

If I remember correctly, the ECM only controls the primary fan. The secondary fan is controlled by a temp sensor in the pass side head as well as the high pressure switch on the the A/C System.
If I am wrong, please correct me.

Well....I have to wait till shop opens ( I live in Louisiana...ISIDORE) until I can get the 4 digit number off the chip. I called fastchip and I guess that is who I am going with....They are supposed to be the best in the market and everyone has the same chip price. I know my Hyperjunk chip is garbage, but I just thought it would be better than the stock chip.....Looks like I am going to yank out stock chip, get fastchip next day air, and install back in without worrying about it all.

Thanks for all your help on this topic and I will post you soon on the outcome...

One more thing...Does 1500 miles sound like a good break in period before I put the get down on it???
