Save your money. The best chip is the one you make yourself, or one someone makes for you. Its almost impossible to make a chip for a car over the internet.
See the PROM forum at http://www.thirdgen.org/ and the tech article on how to do your own.

I agree with Kevin, unless you have a lot of mods then a chip isnt worth it, esp an over-the-counter Hypertech type. My friend Greg put one in his 305 tbi and his track times were exactly the same with the same trap speed.

Once you start moding its a whole different story though.

There are 2 basic choices. You can get a hypertech unit and feel good because you have spent the money so the car has to be faster or get a custom one.

I got a custom one from www.fasterproms.com because they offered me the one thing most don't. They are a true custom shop. They burn it to your specs, have you take diacom readings and reburn it and re-read so it is on the money. They do this till it is right. If someone tells you they can burn it once and forget it, they are full of it. I have run their chips for years with no problems. They take data for cold start and idle, warm start and idle, WOT and cruise and burn the chip that fits. Then they take more readings and reburn. They are $500 for the first time they do it and in future if you make mods that require another burn, it is $150. Well worth it IMO.

You will not be doing burns every other week unless you make major mods or you haven't got it right. If you changed your cam or heads or injector sizes, you would benifit from a reburn. Besides that, I really can't think of too much that would mandate a change.
