The only way to check injectors is to take them out and put them on a test bench to observe firing pattern. Some tech kolleges will have them or you could send them out to www.rceng.com for checking. If you have a tan color on all your plugs and the O2 sensor reading is ok then maybe it could be that your cat is shot?

I had my fuel preasure regulator go out on me. Apparently, it was just letting the fuel dump into the engine totaly unregulated. Let me tell ya, THATS running rich if you have ever smelled it! LOL!! So rich, it wouldn't hardly idle.

How do you go about testing the fuel pressure regulator? I would have a hard time believing that is the problem because it wsa replaced not too long ago, but you never know I guess...

I know if it will not hold pressure for a while after shutdown or the pressure is way too low it is bad.

It does hold pressure after shut down and it shows a pretty steady 40 psi. So seems as though that's not the problem.

If the regulator were at fault, chances are there would be insufficient fuel. From what you tell me, that would not be possible.

Get your hands on a scantool so we can see what is up.

did you get your timing issues taken care of? you know I had a friend who had a similar situation where the car is hard to start and it misses like it was running on 7 cylinders(not your case right?) well it turned out one of his injectors was stuck open dumping lots of fuel. He replaced it and the next day another injector started doing the same thing. The affected cylinders spark plug was fuel fouled which tipped us off as to the problem.

Do you have stock injectors in the car? you pressure regulator can be unplugged giving you more fuel pressure but not so much that the car will run pig rich, It will run alittle richer though. You could have killed the cat too...that will cause the bad fuel smell too. Also change your oil, sounds like its now fuel dilluted.

Fix any exhaust leaks before the O2 sensor, check and repair any vacuum leaks.

I think there is an exhaust leak on the passenger side because you can hear it tick pretty good and when you step on it a little, the tick gets louder. But the O2 is on the driver's side, correct? So would that still affect the O2 and cause my rough idle? I just made another post in which I mentioned that I observed my timing is crazy. It jumps up and down pretty good.

The ECM doesn't see what is happening on the pass side so that is not an issue.
