What car is this?
I thought I knew almost everything about 3rd gen's, but Ive never seen one of these b4. it's an 85 berlinetta, but it's some kind of special edition. It has a digital dash, thecruise controls are on the wheel instead of the column, the a/c controls are where the lighter and defogger controls are supposed to be, the stereo has a weird mount, it's a 2.8 multiport, and is all original. I got car for $250 needing a fuel pump and a starter. I've owned 27 3rd gen's, and this is one of the 3 I currently own, but I've never seen this option package before. What have I got here? is it a jewel or a junker? is this very rare? this is my first berlinetta. everything else has been IROC's RS's and base camaro's including one four-banger.(YUK!!!!)
Any info is welcome. Thanx in advance, JEFF

It isnt all that rare, it became standard equipment on Berlinettas in 85.... But they did not produce em for too many years later, so if everything works and what not..... I would not go to so far to say it is a "jewel" but more of a keeper . Good luck in the future.

Well, I'm going to start chopping on one of them to install a Cadillac Northstar, Which one should I use? I have 2 RS's and the Berlinetta.

Not this topic again. Don't bother with the Northstar! What is the appeal of these engines anyway

Because, everyone and their uncle has an LS1, and the LS1 still has pushrods. the northstar heads breathe great in stock form, and I've already got a Northstar from a totaled demo for the price of "Take it, just get it out of my way" the motor had 5900 miles on it when the salesman slid into a guardrail on I 270 due to Ice.
Stuff the northstar into a fiero it will be much more fun and an easier swap as you can use both the engine and the transaxle and stuff a 350 in the camaro. I also know where a littl fiero gt is you could pick up for like a $100.00 about two hours from you.

Pro's:
1. You get 300HP
Con's:
1. It's a VERY difficult swap. Might as well try to swap in a turbo rotary. I'll guarantee it's more work than you are willing to perform. Many have tried, and almost everyone gave up.
2. You get 300HP. That's it. There is no aftermarket.
3. You're still only in the 14s.
300 in stock form,
who said stock? there is plenty of aftermarket stuff, you just have to know HOW to look for it. As far as the turbo rotary, If my dad and I can stuff a rotary into a Triumph GT6 Mk3, I can stuff anything into anything. I stuffed a V-8 Cat into a 3/4 ton chevy as well. I can fabricate.
