Water temp gauge connection?

I can't find out where my water temp gauge comes through the firewall....is it a green wire?

Basically, I also can't find what it goes on to, I have everything hooked up, speedo, tach, oil pressure, all I need now is my water temp and I have 1 wire left that has no home, its green.

Where on my TPI did the water temp sensor go? Front of the cylinder head? Because the block has a water temp sensor, but it doesn't work, I think that one went to the computer. I need the one that hooks up to the gauge...any ideas?

thanks

There was one on the passenger side of the block under the exhaust manifold, we tried, it doesn't work. Now there are two possibilities, that the green wire doesn't go to the gauge, or that the sensor on the passenger side is the computer temp sense and not the gauge temp sens.

It is a green wire that is a little thicker than most but thinner than a cable. It has a clip on the end.

Ok so I know that the 1 green wire left on my harness is indeed my water temp. So where is the original sensor on the 305 TPI that i can put on my 350?
