What tools are needed to take this out and replace it? Do i need to disconnect my alternator or something because there is very little space to work.

are you sure youre talking about the coolant temp sensor? Mine is right below the tb on the passenger side and is sticking right out of the block and just has the black clip for the wiring sticking on it. Pull the clip off, and put a wrench on it....couldnt be much more simple. You either have to have your sensor in a different location? (did it change from year to year?) or youre talking about a different sensor.

here is the coolant temp sensor. As you can see the clip pops off and a wrench can be slipped on and it just screws out. sorry for it being a little small i dont have the patience to try to mess with it.

Thank you Doug!

A picture..finally...I tried hooking it up to the temp sens on the passenger side of the block under the exhaust manifold with no luck....so I just gotta go to my ol 305 and take that sens off and hook my temp wire up. Thnx

There are too many things in the way to get to it with the socket. Yes mine is in front like yourrs but a little more to the right. The thing that holds the alternator is in the way...
