Vortec Vs Center Bolt?

Is There A Diference And Will Vortec Heads Work With My L98 Block And An Aftermarket Intake? Which Is Better? I Want To Replace The Heads, Intake And Cam. I Am Looking At The Performer Package From Edelbrock With The High Flow Runners And Matching Intake But It Doesnt Have Alot Of Info On The Difference In Heads.

Re: Vortec Vs Center Bolt?

Avoid the Edelbrock baseplate at all costs! Yes you can put vortec heads on a L98 block. Get the Sloggen Dickys complete set up. $1200- heads, a good TPI vortec intake, ARP bolts and all gaskets.

Re: Vortec Vs Center Bolt?

you need an intake specifically for the Vortec heads. Either the SDPC TPI base or a carbed intake for the heads.

btw, I've got a set of vortecs for sale. With carbed intake, valve covers, roller rockers, manley valves, screw in studs, guidelplates and 5 angle valve job. Brand new for $900
