vortec tpi cam recomendations

im building a 350 (40 over ) roller, with vortec heads (2.02 1.60) ,Scoggin Dickey tpi base, accel runners, 52mm tb, 24lb injectors, and im wondering wht would be a good cam to get around 400hp and hit 12s (currently have lt1 cam but dont think that will give me more then 300hp ) wondering what you guys have or would recomend

thanx steve

Yeah I am curious too. Contemplating the same thing here. What made you decide to go with a 52mm TB? I really don't see the point. You could spend that 300 and buy a cam. Larger TB's are not gonna help us out unless we are making some MAJOR hp. Just to put it into perspective for you. The RamJet 502 makes 502hp and 502 #/ft of torque and uses a 48mm TB. In some cases , size really doesn't matter

I thought the larger TB gives better throttle response but not power? Someone correct me if I an wrong.

I guess some might get an improved throttle response, but I doubt that has anything to do with size. More so the fact that it is a new unit as opposed to our 12 year old or older TPI TB's.

I would think you need to know what is the max lift supported by your heads and springs and also if it would crash the piston into the valve.

Scoggin sells 3 different phases of the vortec heads, each capable of taking more andmore lift. Here is a link totheir site that will give you an idea of what to look for.

yeh with the throttle body i had my old one bored (under 200) so i figure it would help some for that price and my heads currently have a 510 lift spring in them so i could always go bring (they have already been machined) but i was jsut wondering what cam some people have had some luck with and what kind of results
