V6 to V8 Question

1991 Camaro RS w/ 191 V6 and auto tranny

Can the 191 be replaced with a 305 or 350 or will the tranny also have to be changed?

Granted I'll prolly be changing the tranny over to a manual, but Id like to wait and do that later and do the engine first if possible?

any suggestions?

Edit: Im looking for the question too, but thought Id ask here and maybe get pointed in the right direction???

IF the car has a 700R4 trans in it, you should be alright. Just make sure when you put a 350 in there that you should rebuild the trans and change your stall convertor and get some gears in the rear .

Good luck with it

The manual tranns are differant the 700R4's are similar enough that it should work. Don't be suprised if it doesn't like the newfound torque though. I would plan on spending the money on replacing the tranny, so if you have to your not screwed, and if you don't you have some money to throw somewhere else.
