Re: Ultimate Small Block?

So you save a few hundred bucks? The Shafiroff engines very high quality components, and are done by a very reputable shop. Just the fact alone that they provide a warranty not only assures you during the warranty, but also shows that the parts are workmanship are MUCH better than any local speed shop like you used. A if we could compare two similar engines, the above mentioned Shafiroff and your combo either in daily driving or hardcore track use, most would choose the Shafiroff over yours anyday.

So much for that low buck incomplete engine huh

Re: Ultimate Small Block?

I had my engine built by

Kinetic Racing Engines
38664 Webb Drive, Westland, MI 48185
(734) 595-7593

One of the most reconigized engine builders in The Metro Detroit Area.. Ya know helps build concept motors for the big three, does alot of work for NHRA teams as well as the huge number of stock car racing teams.. But I guess if your from hobokin you might want a mail order engine, but In Detroit.. Motor City.. We prefer to use people who are locally reconigized as well known engine builders.. People who were there 10-20 years ago and will be there for at least another 10-20 years..

Re: Ultimate Small Block?

I understand why you would want a small block. However if you're going to spend that much money why not buy an aluminum BBC. Not that much wt difference, can be sleeved whenever, and repaired when you break it. All for $5000 investment.

Then spend all your money making it go as fast as you can in whatever you are putting it in.

I know that's not the answer to your question but for the amounts of money talking here you can create a lot more power without getting so trick.

Re: Ultimate Small Block?

ucantsee me,yes you need to include the cost for all the other mods youll need to do when adding all those cubes, you just cant bolt on your exsisting parts..hoss your looking at the best of both worlds, power and mpg...you cant use an old style engine, sure cubes make power but powerneeds gas,you need efficency and the only way your going to get that is new tech, serioulsy look at a ls1 swap if you want the best of both worlds..im mean the ls1 guys pulling 11s and 10s and still grabbing 15-20mpg..with ac!!!!!
