My response to the statement "for some added horsepower," the mod does work and worth doing IMO. In answer to the question, the mod will increase the amount water and particles that get through, depending on the quality of the filter.

As for the ram air effect mentioned in this thread:
My TPI TBody has a 52mm diameter bore, but the nozzle opening is slightly larger (57mm x 2 bores=114mm=5130.44sq.mm=.75sq.ft.) A cross-sectional view of a TPI TBody is very similar to a ramjet nozzle.

A ramjet with a frontal area of .75sq.ft, and altitude of 0 ft would require a speed of >225 mph before it would produce any thrust at all.

The airfoil on my Tbody is cosmetic at <225 mph, and functional at >225mph.

I have done this mod just for the increase in density.
The correct name for this mod IMO is "Cold Air," because it's the lower outside air temperature versus the engine compartment temperature that increases density, and power output.

If you have this mod and have exceeded 225mph then you have every right to call it "Ram Air, or Ram/Cold Air."

Wow...couldn't have said it better myself...I don't think simpletons will understand the big words though...How bout this

Cold air=power...as long as your air/fuel ratio is close

What happened when my engine decided it was thirsty and needed a drink was that a piston actually broke
I went down to the shop that was doing the rebuild and he showed me the damage, it was not pretty to say the least. I was hoping the entire time that nothing serious happened internally but I guess I just couldn’t dodge that bullet. I guess that’s what I get for being an idiot and saying to myself, “it can’t be that deep"
