trunk pull down

Does any one know if it is possible to change from power pull down to just the normal type trunk latch?

I was actually thinking about doing that to my car. I was told that it could be done, but you will have to go to a junkyard or something and get the piece that connects to the body (off of a car that did not have a motorized hatch). You will then have to take out your hatch motor and the part that it bolts to and weld the new piece in. I know that's probably pretty hard to understand but I can't really explain it any better. I still haven't done it because it seems like more trouble than its really worth.

Lon is a real good guy to do busines with. Very friendly, and more than willing to help out if you have a problem with his products. I highly recommend Top-Down Solutions.

If you dont want to use it anymore...and like everyone said Lon has everything to repair it, you just take the back plastic panel, close the hatch and scribe a line where the slides are located when the hatch is closed. Then open the hatch and remove the pull down assembly...take the assembly to a welder or weld it yourself. I got tired of rebuilding mine or buying a new one off ebay and just welded it myself.
