Re: true dual exhaust

It was too my knowledge that true-duals are worthless ( except for sound of course.. ) on any engine that is producing under 400hp give or take, or unless it's a big-block

Worthless is an awfuly strong term to use.....they provide some of the best, most free flowing exhaust to an engine possible....how that is worthless is beyond me. Granted, the more power your engine makes, the more useful they become, but I have not found them to be worthless at all. I picked up 3 MPH in the 1/4 with them as well as my tq range climbing (and staying) higher and steadier after the install. Plus, I can use different cams (then your average 224/224) to achieve some really good power.

Are they for everyone? Not a chance. Are they worth the cost to get them done right? Not usually...unless you are putting down major power.......but to each their own and I love mine (aside from clearance issues )

Re: true dual exhaust

Of course you are talking about an LS1 TA We are talking third gen 305's and 350's here. On our car's generally they dont change a lot unless, like I said previously, you are using a BBC or are pushing 400hp+ (give or take)

I still stand by it.....I don't think you could hurt it one bit (or have it be worthless) if you were modding any engine, regardless if it is a TPI 305 or LT1 or whatever.....just my $.02.

But yes, an LS1 will respond better then a TPI 305 to this mod, you are right about that I suppose. I was just trying to NOT be an LS1 snob since I LOVE 3rd Gens sooo much and want another BAD!!!
