Re: true dual exhaust

just an FYI theyve proven that true duals dont give you any more horsepower then a y-pipe.

They have also proven that they sound freaking cool

Your biggest obstacle is where you have to come over the axel, the only place to do it is on the passenger side because of the factory suspension, and there isnt much space over there.

I think a lot of people who go with duals just dump before the axel, which is illegal in some states (i think)

Re: true dual exhaust

if you want to dump before the axel duals is easy and any exhaust shop will be able to fab it up for you, itll sound mean too

the only hard part is people who want to go over the axel

why not something like a y-pipe except have a cutout right where the two pipes meet?

Re: true dual exhaust

those are the mufflers i was talkin about. I had two like that on my old system, by old i mean what was on the car when i bought it but that was a fangled pieced together excuse for an exhaust system was awful. I'm quite happy with my new 3" y-pipe, altho it is a tad quieter then id like.

That's funny cuz my true duals gained me about 15 rwhp over my catback & Y pipe.....go figure.

Exactly who are "they" and where is this "proof" that duals don't make more power?

False. Quite a few people have done duals on the same side, and then can exit on either both or one side.

All i could say to that is that your y-pipe must have been restrictive

I know ive read of at least two or three different people on tgo testing the two setups and they can easily yeild the exact same HP.

I dont understand what you mean by this, sounds like youre saying the tips can be on one or both sides? Ya course you can run pipes where ever u want after the axel.

I was saying...as far as i know so correct me if im wrong...the only place there is enough space to go over the axel is on the passenger side with both pipes. Thats what it looked like on my car. With two 2 1/2 inch pipes it could be done, anything bigger then that i seriously doubt it.

Actually, prior to TD's, I was running the SLP "wider/larger/free-flowing" Y-Pipe which added a good almost 15-20 hp when combined with the Loud Mouth exhaust I added at the same time compared to the stock y-pipe & catback.
