my friend has a 87 or 86 iroc. he has to let off the gas in order to shift into second and so on. any ideas on what my be causing this? hes had the car looked at a few times and still has the problem. they've messed with the shifter cable but still nothing. its a l98 iroc z28 auto.

 

when did this shart? has anyone messed with the t.v. cable?

 

not that i know of. when he got the car it was second hand. the guy who had it before him had rebuilt the motor. he's had the car for about 5 years. he think that when they married the motor and tran they skipped a step. he just wants a idea of what it is before he spends crazy money on a bunch of "it could be this" parts.
