i am going to be draining my 700r4 but my pan has no drain plug is there another pl ace i can drain it from or do i just take the pan off??

 

Take the bolts off and leave only the corner ones loose. Take one of the corner ones off and loosen the rest under a drain pan. Tip the tranny pan to pour more fluid out. finally take the last bolts off. Drill hole to put drain plug with the pan off because you don't want metal shavings to get into the tranny.
