You will need a 730 ecm and the correct wire harness and sensors to swap to S/D

A 730 ecm is a 730 ecm that is your choice for SD...if your going to be tuning and making it exact then SD is the way to go, if your not tuning than MAF will be the way to go because its a little more forgiving.

the ecm is the silver "brain" under your dash..the Prom goes into the ecm....you program the prom, the ECM holds the hard data.

You could keep your setup and have someone custom a prom for your Mass Air unit with less problems. I know that www.fasterproms.com does do it truely custom to your car and they reburn it twice after taking readings to make sure it is on the money.

If SD is so great, why did they go back to MAF on the LT1 and forth?

AFAIK, Mass Air gives you the true volume of air and SD estimates it. You could stick intakes on a MA system and not have to reporgram the EPROM whereas, to get the max out of an agressive intake on SD, you will have to reprogram. At least that was my experience. SD has less obstructions but is harder to work with in that the window of adjustment is smaller and therefore less adaptable.
