timing is going crazy

timing is going crazy

Its all erractic...up and down...whats the deal?

I thought it might be that my box isn't grounded byt its grounded fine.

You may have better results if you elaborate a little. Why are you checking the timing? Problem? What "BOX" are you talking about? What ignition? Standard or after market? Etc.

Dropped a new engine in, and yes i put the distributor in myself ( i might have messed this up but i didnt think i did, but i guess its possible)....so bc its new it wasnt idling and running crappy, so i tried to check the timing and set it. Yes i unplugged the tan wire. The "box" is my accel digital ignition box..but its grounded fine.

Ill give you alittle more about it tomorrow, im putting the factory prom back in tomorrow set for 30 lb injectors...well see what happens

Well i didnt realize the hypertech chip was just a piggy back on the cars original prom. So today i pulled the hypertech out and stuck the factory prom in. (still waiting for my new prom set for 30lb injectors to come) and i ran a code scanner on the car...nothing came up
