i heard that you can't run timing gears with a knock sensor.
Is this true

 

I don't know about that. I do know they while like a stuck pig. Why do you want gears anyway? Whining is not the same as knock. The KS is designed to pick up certain types of vibrations. I suppose that the while could be in the same frequency as the pinging sound but I doubt it.

 

Um, gear drives do not mess with the knock sensor... I have had mine in since 97.

No problems as of yet.

Get the quiet Gear drive and they have a sweet sound.

Noisey one can cause the knock, but they do not even make a noisy one for roller cams. And the noisy ones are the annoying ones.
