yes, you have to completely dismantle it to tighten the torx bolts inside the lilt. its a very common problem. if you have never taken apart a column, I wouldnt recommend doin it. you need some special tools to do it. itd prolly cost a few hours at a dealership.

you don't really need special tools. I took mine apart, and the only special tool I needed was a slide hammer to pull the pins at the base of the tilt portion of the column. Other tools make life easier, but aren't completely necessary.
Keep in mind though, that the torx bits at the base of the tilt joint are a reverse torx. You need a female torx driver to tighten them, but any parts store will have those for a couple bucks. Don't forget the loc-tite unless you wanna do this again in a few months.
