Installing Z-28 High Rise Spoiler

I just picked up a high rise spoiler and was wondering what the best way would be to fill in all those holes I am gonna have. Is it something I can do myself or should I take it down to a shop and have them do it? I wish I knew how to weld.

I would recomend having a body shop do it. Having a buddy who does body work would be even better though....

Even if you did know how to weld, you would still have to paint the quarterpannel again. You don't want to have Rice tendancies and half *** a job. I say pay the extra few bucks.

I highly reccomend having some one do it that can MIG weld real good on low temp settings so you do not warp the decklid. Nothing will pi** yu off more than seeing that!!

What about finding a decklid off a six cylinder car with no spoiler drilling the holes and having it painted. It would most likely be cheaper then havin the old holes welded and then painted over.

Exactly what I was thinking...just make sure you put the new one on right...i forgot to put some kind of sealer at the seam of the decklid and the glass....winter time....block of ice was in my hatch :/

But if you replace the back deck, your still going to have the holes in your quaterpannels from the 3 piece spoiler, right??

Yes you will still have holes in the qtr panel. 3 on each side. The 6 banger decklid is the easiest as far as not having to weld holes, but if you are already there welding the qtrs it will only take another 15 minutes or so to weld the decklid. When done make sure to use a good quality undercoating to protect it from rust.
