third brake light problem

Hey,

Today, I was gooing to start modifying my 3rd brake light, and found it was not working, I pulled it apart and tested leads running to and from the four bulbs, after that, I haven't a clue what to do.

The "expensive" bulbs can be had a Radio Shack for cheap! Take a bulb, look through their light bulb trays, and match - I replaced all of mine with no sweat, and all 4 or 5 of them were less than $30 TOTAL!

wrong problem.

I already have new bulbs for the high mount brake, I don't know where you guys are from, but I paid $3 for 2 bulbs. The problem is there is no power getting to the bulbs, I checked the leads and I checked the connectors at the bottom of the hatch lift and they aren't getting power either, I don't know which fuse it's on, I would imagine the same fuse as the other brake lights. I don't see any fuses that are "burnt out". From there I don't know where to check,
thanks for trying the first time,

try this

ok heres what i think

gm seems to have a little problem with leaky t-tops( no never) lol. 3 weeks ago i was preparing for inspeaction when my thrid brake light all of a sudded stopped working. i went nuts changed bulbs and even the whole light assembly. your answer is to trace your light wires all the way back to the box if your t-tops leaked at one time chances are they leaked on your wires and have corroded them this is the problem i experienced after you totally gut your interior all you need is some wire snips and black tape a big job for a such a bull**** light and also before you go gutting the interior try cleaning the connections on the hatch with a screwdriver scrape the metal and maybe it will be a qwick fix

goodluck
