TH350 stuck in drive?

so we put my new dipstick tube in yesterday, topped the transmission fluid, started the car and it jumps forward. WTF. So then I put it in neutral and crank it up, still a little jump but I could get it idling with my foot on the brake and it doesn't move. Anyway, the linkage is right, it hasn't been toyed with or anything. I just drove this car about 2 month ago and it's been sitting until the weather was cooperative enough to allow me to put the new dipstick tube in. I have no reverse, and the car jumps in Park, Neutral, and both drives. I'm not quite sure what could have happened. I can hear the tranmission clicking when I move the shifter, but I don't have any ideas. Is my transmission toast? It worked perfectly last time I had i out, which was very brief and slow(around the block 3 times), so I'm not sure with could/would have happened.

I'm sorry I need to you clarify that a little more. What do you mean by the linkage "dropping" ? Everything is still connected if that's what you mean. I know this is making me sound like an idiot, but when it comes to transmission I know absolutely nothing, so I'll need this (and any other posts) in stupid-person language

What I mean is the Leakage "dropped" Came off at the Tranny Its just held on by a little wire that I know of & can fall off easy.
If you have any questions about Trannys go over to LS1tech.com & in the NW section & talk to TwoFast4Lv He builds Tranny for a living He might be able to talk ya though whats going on.
