Temp Gauge

I just swapped a a carbed 305 in place of the fuel injected six my camaro used to have and I'm trying to get the factory temp gauge to work. Can anyone tell me what color the wires for the gage are. The 2.8 had two sensors on the intake and dispite jumping, grounding, juicing, ect the wires for them the gage will not move. When the ignition is turned on the gage moves down a bit below the scale and then back to the bottom of the scale when shut off. Any help getting this thing to work would be great
Thanks,
Pat
