tach peged

Hey all. I just picked my self up a 1991 camaro rs. yay. anyways ita an automatic, but the tack seems to be out of wack. when the engine is of it reads around 5k then when running it sits at around 6k. when i giver a little gas, or alot the tack pegs way below the red line markings and basicaly sits on the bottom of gause could this be a resistor or something or maby a loss wire cause it seams to read the reves fine but the needle just looks like its in ther wrong possition. well yeah..

also were can i find a complete window weather striping kit?

thanks guys

niall

Just a question quick. when it is off it is at 5, at idle at 6, and then with gas it pegs the bottom of the gauge. it it always moving in a clockwise motion. if so maybe someone messed with the needle on the gauge. It is not uncommon though for the tach to be horribly off in 3rd gens. Most times people generally replace the gauge when they happens. generally cheaper and easier.

Sounds like a bad ground. Check ground wires near the distributor @ rear top engine.
