I'm not sure if that's the correct name. Anyway what are the chances of remomoving it without ripping the rubber seals. I want to sand it down (a little rust) and repaint it and put it back.

as long as you are careful, it shouldn't rip. Just take you time and don't use anything sharp to help pry it out with.

 

I guess they didn't make all of them like mine. I peeled all of the black off mine and polished it. I haven't seen one like it that way yet. Yours must be steel.
