my car is surging at idle and cannot figure it out.
i just installed a 383.
stock-injectors,intake,fpr,chip
i am getting a chip as soon as i get my tax return
heads are ported and polished,comp cams 258,480 lift
i removed that "wall" in the plenum behind the throttle body
please help

 

throttle position sensor? how about all the vacuum lines/hoses? u might need a custom chip do to the different cam.

 

Ask the people at www.fasterproms.com and see what they say about your injectors. I suspect your injectors are a little too small for what you are trying to do. I would go to 24 or maybe even 30 pph depending on future mods. They will do you up a custom chip based on your mods. After that, you can have them fine tune the thing with computer readings. Whatever you do, don't believe that someone can tune your chip once and it will be right on.

 

Is your timing set right and did you adjust your idle air control? You should set your base idle with a diagnostic tool. Scan the IAC counts and it should be around 20 to 30 counts. After that, reset your TPS and get the chip.
