headers and an adjustable fuel pressure regulator.

i suggest Heddman shorty headers, but you have to buy there y-pipe as well ($100 extra). they are an awesome fit and good spark plug access.

most of those seem good...

the pulley is a little high i think, probably more like 2-3hp and 10#s of torque

the amount you have for headers is a bit hopefull i think.

considering the engine is only making ~225hp i don't think you'd gain 35-40 hp from header and a catback.

maybe 25hp total for the 2

they will definatly help. but the less hp you are making, the less power you are gonna gain from the headers/exhaust.

i would also throw on a DIY ramair system on the TPI...i saw great gains on the highway with mine.

I had fuel pres regulator, headers, cat back, and high flow cats. All combined with a pair of K&Ns and a gutted are box, (home made ram air). I didn't Dyno, but I can tell you I def felt it gain a lot more power. A lot more fun to drive and better fuel economy. As for that Y pipe stuff------ look for a custom exhaust place around where you live, they can make pipes that match up to your headers for less than that. I bought edelbrock shorties, 2 random tech cats, and allready had a flowmaster muffler, and had sub frame connectors (weld in). I brought all of this to a shop, and had them put it all in, taking note that the exhaust has to be built inboard so the connectors can fit, and they charged me 220 bucks, and it took them almost 9 hours, haha. It was worth it. Spend a bit more than 500 and it will make that thing really open up.

I would install a dry nitrous kit and a AFPR. This would take you a bit over $500, but gain you a solid 75RWHp. Plumb the nitrous jets ahead of the MAF sensor. Adjust the AFPR upwards to make sure you are getting enough fuel at WOT when the nitrous comes on.

It took me about 2 hours to install the dry kit I have on my '99 Camaro SS.

New to the game, what exactly does that do, bumping the timing up.

I would say invest your money in NOS wet kit that way you can gat a very safe 100 HP for about $500

And just for the record I sprayed 225HP before I ever hurt the motor and it was because my Alternator went out and fuel pressure dropped

Bumping the timing should give the car a little more power, better throttle response, and better fuel economy.

^Whaaaat? Bumping the timing gives *better* fuel economy?? How does that work?
And what the hell is it w/ 1.6 rockers? What does the 1.6 stand for, and why is that number so special?

Well, I did not post that, but what is meant by bumping the timing from 6* to 10* is the static timing. The factory setting is 6* on our MAF cars. This static timing is additive to the timing called for in the timing table in the ECM, so you get 4* more timing across the board, even at WOT. And it could be too much, causing detonation.

Re: suggestions on how to make easy bolt on horse power for cheap

When you adjust the timing you're maximizing the timing curve, or when the spark plugs fire. Remember, the combustion process takes the same time at idle as it does at 5000 RPMs, this why timing advances are necessary. As the RPM's increase, the plugs have to fire sooner so the combustion process takes place when the piston is at the top of the cylinder.

The factory is a bit on the conservative side when it comes to timing(among other things), so if the timing is adjusted to the optimum firing point: more power, better response, and in turn better fuel economy - if you can keep your foot out of it.

Wait.. your talking about cam-timing right? Or are you reffering to dist. timing? Will advancing your cam timing actually be NOTICABLE while driving?
