What are the 1/4 times on a completely stock 305 camaro, auto ...
Also , completely stock with 6lbs boost?
And stock with 8 lbs intercooled boost?

I no a guy who is tryin to get the $$$ to do this but i have a feelin 8lbs + Stock Bottom = Spun Bearings & big mess ...

 

boost on a stock engine, i wouldnt recommend it.

 

lol ya i told him not to run boost on stock bottom either , but he's a pig headed schmuck. I jsut wanted to get an idea of how fast it will be while it lasts lol ? Any idea what a stock 5.0 does ? then 6 lbs boost , and then 8lbs intercooled ??? Anyone

 

8psi intercooled you might have a 35 to 45% gain in power..

so a stock 305, say it does roughly ~235rwhp, would get ~350rwhp
roughly.. at most... maybe more.. always depends on the engine.

but basically, two or three passes down the track at WOT, he'll
be buying a new engine. that's just if he spins a bearing, or
breaks a rod. better intake and injectors would be required for
operation to keep it leaning out.

what are the stock injectors on a 305? 305 auto should do 270
at the crank, that's roughly... 6.4... 270*.55.. 24lb/hr injectors
at most, maybe? could be 26lb/hr injectors, stock, point being..

390 crank hp at the most, under boost, would need 36lb/hr
injectors to keep the mix from leaning out, that's with 80% duty
load to allow the injectors to cool down. so technically in two
back to back quick runs, or some wide open playing on the
streets would lean out the mix to the point where you could
melt a piston, valves, yeah.. preety much boom.

crank couldn't take it, though, well maybe, but doubtful. sometimes
people have to take the hard road to learn. can't teach everyone.

 

lol yea for real ... I tried tellin him but he got his head set on supercharging the 305 that he should be getting within the next 2 days ? He already paid for it so he's jsut waitin for the guy to drop it off now ...

So what will a stock 305 Camaro do in a 1/4 ? Any estimates of what it would do under boost like that assuming it doesnt take a $hit and trash the bottom ?

 

Bret 91 RS LT1 (or something similar) has a friend that's running a procharger on a stock bottom end 305, evidently he's doing pretty good with it. I'd get in contact with him and see if you can ask his friend questions if you're serious about doing it.

I dunno, I'd do it but then again I really dont care if I blow my **** up anymore.

 

if everything is in good shape, low 16's stock, maybe high 13's
under boost..

all depends on how you launch it too.

Thats abouit what i was guessing, He tried telling me they ran low 15's stock ... but i figured a 60k mile 305 wouldnt be in tip top shape and if he was to supercharge it , i thought maybe he could get close to what ya said. He seemed to think that it would blow away my basically stock LT1 ... And I thought itd be pretty close actually ... like within a few 10's , he cant drive worth **** tho so i possibly could beat him if i had a good launch lol ... Thanks

Stock L98 Iroc with a supercharger running 6lbs of boost I think went 13.4 @ 108? I think... he needed traction. A 305 will be a few clicks slower... prolly a mid to high 13. 8# of boost may get him to lower 13's assuming a good launch.
