Stealth Ram or LT1 intake?

What should I get a Stealth Ram or an LT1 Intake? Which is cheaper and better for the long run. Also, easiness to install. Thanks.

i would go with the lt1 intake because if you have a bird it will fit under the stock hood where as the stealth ram wont. if you go lt1 you will need to convert it to a distributor clad engine. the real lt1 engine didnt have a distributor like a regular 350 does. your best bet is to order one from www.lt1intake.com. the guy converts it himself, paints it whatever color you want and i believe sends installation instructions as well. if you already have a running tpi setup all you will need to swap this on is a throttle body. hope this helps.

Personally, I'd go with the ACCEL Superram intake system.

www.lt1intake.com is where he pointed out earlier.

thats john millican and he's been doing those for a while now. the good thing about those is that, like he mentioned, it fits under a stock bird hood. also, theres been quite a few people doing it this way so there is a good amount of info out there to be found. also, john is always present on his boards over at www.se-thirdgen.org or on thirdgen.org to answer questions about it.

it will require some chopping...

i guess we should say "it wont fit under the stock hood without modification."

think of the stealth ram this way, it is basically a tunnel ram setup with a EFI plennum on top. so if a tunnel ram is too big to fit under your hood then this is also too big.

The stealth ram will fit under the stock camaro hood better than the firebird. On my formula, I simply took material from the top and bottom of the plenum. I also shaved 1/16" off the base (shortened runners). Furthermore, I neatly cut out some braces on the underside of the hood. I clear by about 1/16" at the front passenger side of the throttle body. For more information and pictures, search for JMatlock88 (me) on www.thirdgen.org. Later.
