Speedo calibration??

I just bought a 1990 IROC that a previous owner put 4.11:1 gears in. It is a blast to drive but the speedo is wacked out. Can I buy a set of speedo gears or something to get it working right??

Short answer is yes. Don't remember what year they changed. If it has VSS you can get a module that's adjustable. If it's still cable driven, (I don't think so), you can get gears from GM that go in the trans. tail shaft. Check the 3rd Gen board.

All you have to do is find out what drive and driven gear combination will work for your setup.

This link should help http://www.700r4.com/speedoCalc/speedocalc.shtml

It is electronic, but it still uses a plastic drive gear and driven gear on the tailhousing to make the electronic VSS work.
