So I just ordered my Vortec Heads and Intake
Yup, that's right! Today I placed the order for this set up! Everything that I've heard about it so far has been great. I'm also going to go ahead and ordered myself a set of these bad boys
Can't wait to get everything installed and tuned! I'll keep you guys updated with how it goes!

I hope those runners do the trick. From what I have seen the TPI/Vortec combination is a very good drag combo if you can hook up. People are producing almost 400 ft-lbs of torque with them. But the horse power always seems a bit low. So these cars are running well into the 13s but at barely 100mph. Hopefully those runners you are getting will allow it to breath enough to get those higher hp numbers. If you get trap speeds that would be nice to see how those runners do.
Holy polished runners Batman!
That will be a very cool combination.
As far as not reaching good performance numbers, this combo WILL definately make huge torque with the right cam. Gearing is going to play a big part as well as torque converter selection. Keeping both of them reletively mild(rpm wise) will keep this kind of engine in it's kill zone. Easy 12 second combo once tuned. Goodluck with the install!

The heads/intake are already on the way, the runners I'm going to order the end of the week! The car already has a Cam in it but I can't find the damn cam card with the specs on it
I had it installed over 2 years ago and the exact specs slipped my mind, I did however find the warranty card with the part number on it. I'll just check there website later on for the exact specs! I know I’m an idiot for misplacing it
I’m pretty excited about getting everything installed, the car as it is now only put down 202RWHP but 302RWTRQ, I’m hoping to get those numbers a lot higher with this new setup!

I just finished a rebuild about like your doing, on a 1992 z28. I got my vortec heads from Tri-state cylinder head repair in Evansville, IN, already modded for up to 550 lift cam. I found the guy on e-bay, he was real helpful and an all around good guy. I paid $500 shipped. I had a custom chip burned from a guy on e-bay, his name is Brian and the name of his business is tbichips. Chip was great, car cranked on the first try. I set the timing and was good to go. Brian knows what he's doing when it comes to chips. He guarantees it to work or he'll re-do it till it does work. I paid about $110 shipped. I went ahead and replaced rings, mains, and rod bearings. Brian told me the first cam I chose would not work good, he said that I'd never get it to do right in my car so he suggested the Comp Cam 08-304-8. Needless to say the car is real strong now. I haven't really hammered on it yet since I'm still in the break-in process. Let me know if I can help you in any way. You might run into a problem that I ran into and I might could help some way.
