SLP cold air intake

Does anyone have any experience with the SLP cold air induction for the TPIs? I just received it in the mail the other day, but they didnt send any instructions or anything with it. I was wondering what the best method for relocating the battery was, or if it would just be better to return it and stick with the stock setup.

I never understood the point of a cold air intake passage for the TPI's. I mean, they are essentially a cold air intake anyhow, especially if you remove the fog lights and cut the airbox out. The only way I can see you getting a gain is if the intake is a little more free flowing than the stock.

I looked at it and thought the same thing. Instead of paying 250$ for it I just removed my fog lights and slapped in a K&N.

Re: SLP cold air intake

Is this the one you have?

or did you get the one that is half of that and goes to the pass side?
If you got the half one, and your battery is on the pass side, it's pretty easy to move it to the drivers side.
just use longer battery cables and try and get the charcoal canister down under the battery tray.

For the Pontiacs it's not to bad. The part I don't like is it uses the factory hoses. I wound up making a custom one for my car. For the Camaro's I don't see the point as the factory one is just fine if you get rid on the bottle neck where the round part meets the flat part. I don't think they sell the one in Zepher's post anymore.

Ya, I had to move it to the back of the car. Put it in a box where the spare tire was.

Re: SLP cold air intake

A couple of guys in our club did the mods to their Camaro intakes. They got some plastic pipe from the hardware store and mated/grafted it to the flat section of the intake. Good for a solid 8rwhp horsepower on both cars. Basically there is to much of a "pinch" point where the round meets the flat in that area.
