Shift **** Thread Size

I just installed my Hurst Billet/Plus shifter for my T-5 and I was thinking about getting a new shift **** for it. Anyone know the thread size on it??? I looked through everything that came with it but can't find the size. Thanx.

I am not sure what the T5 handle thread size is but, you can go to MR.Gasket.com and look in the hurst catalog it will show you there.

I got one of those, then i got a Shorter rod off of ebay, it was well worth it. Dropped the ball another 3-4 inches.

The thread on a stock T-5 is 16mm x 1.50

I don't need the stock size. I need the size of the Hurst one. It is smaller.

Give Hurst a call.

I'm not doubting you, but I was almost sure that all aftermarket shifters were stock thread size. I know Pro 5.0 ( ), B&M, and 6spd Hursts are...I'd double/triple check.

MMMM yes yes they rock

A hurst doesnt even allow you to use your stock **** thats not cool at all...cawlk up another point for PRO 5.0!

But someone said buying a shorter stick from ebay...isnt that defeat the purpose of buying the aftermarket short throw shifter in the first place as your screwing up the goemotry of the shifter and it would be harder to shift. You mise well just cut a chunk off the stock shifter and tread the shaft. The reason a short throw shifter works so well is they move the middle movement point of the shifter up so the lower part of the shifter is longer thus makeing the throws shorter but you keep the same ease of shifting movment. I guess tho if you like cutting about 1/2" off a short throw shifter it prob = the same throw as cutting 1" off a stock one and you would mess up the geometry about the same.

A Pro 5.0 has about 2" of thread already. The stock, or an aftermarket, **** only needs ~7/8" so you can already lose about an inch or so, using the supplied stick. I'd never buy a short stick. Although Lou's and a Pro 5.0 are supposed to be heaven together...

All I know is that I love this shifter (the Hurst). It feels so much better than my old one. The length of the stick is the same, but the throw (distance between gears) is a lot shorter. It feels amazing.

No bend, just a straight stick. Supposed to be really short, that's it. I think LS1 Speed has them -- www.LS1Speed.com
