Shift Kit Question

Is it a big deal to do a shift kit install on your tranny? Is it like a weekend process that takes some skill, or can a regular guy like me do it in a few days? It looks like a good mod for the money..

not sure how hard it is i think its relatively straight forward but does take some work. For god sakes though if you do it get installed so that it only works under WOT or more then 3/4 throttle or whatever, the way my car is from how i bought it is its all the time and it gets annoying

What gets annoying? that little rev thing it does when you shift gears? My buddy just bought a camaro, and his shift kit does that...I don't really understand it, when you read about shift kits it says that it makes your shifts more solid, and more aggressive, but on his, it seems like it did the opposite...and the previous owner said all 700r4's with shift kits in em feel that way(revs up a little bit when you shift, almost like slippage)

No, the TransGo makes the shifts quicker than stock. And firmer.

A Corvette servo makes the 2-3 shift more positive and eliminates any slippage that can creep into stock 700r4s over time.

How far are you from a rebuild? If you are near that time, have it rebuilt and then put in while it is being done. To change the shift speed you would need to modify the governer.

No my car and i have no idea what shift kits in it im guessing its a B&M and those are actually known for eating our trannies, it just slams from gear to gear upshifting downshifting, not the most plesant thing in the world but there are very few things about my car that i would describe as "plesant" not that im complaining i love the attitude that my car has.
