SFC Install

What is involved in installing a set of subframe connectors in my 86 IROC. What are some advantages/disadvanges between bolt in and weld in subframe connectors. Are the bolt in subframe connectors something Im able to do in my driveway?

Advantages: everything
Disadvantages: you'll cry you didnt own them before.

Bolt-ins are ok, but over time the holes where they're bolted will elongate and you'll get some slop. However, all the bolt in ones should be able to be welded in later if you're in a pinch for money now and want them now.

Slayer, yes its a job that you can do in your driveway. Although put the car up on ramps or jack stands. I put 'em on my '84 Camaro years ago and it really wasn't any big thing. Bill...

EDIT! Slayer, don't use jack stands as the car must be at ride hight. I'd forgotten that part, I did it like 10 years ago or so. Just get it up in the air for ease of installation but have all 4 wheels/tires supported.... Bill...

Not too bad. We installed them Sat/Sun. Pass side can be tricky. We had to disconnect a lot of the exhaust and do some prying. Pretty straight forward. I opted for the bolt-in Jegster SFC's. They really stiffen up the ride, definitely worth $180. I'm welding them in later. Good luck.

I suggest you get someone to do it for you instead of bolting it on.
