I bought a water pump from Pep Boys....how can I tell if it's a serp pump and that he didn't give me the wrong kind?

 

You can always pull off the back plate and see which way the impellers are pointing, although I'm not sure which way is which.

I do know that the standard rotation pump has the 2 alternator bracket mounting bosses cast into them...the reverse rotation pumps do not. I guess you can check that if you don't wanna pull the rear cover off. HTHs.

 

thanks....so if the one i got is right there should be only 1 bolt hole for mounting my alt bracket?
