Seats from a 4th gen

I noticed that there are a TON of 4th gen seats available on Ebay. It seems it will be cheaper to just buy 4th generation seats and put them into my 3rd (instead of spending a fortune to just fix up these old ones). Will they bolt right up, and will the power seat connectors just hook up? How awesome would that be if they did.

Thanks.

4th gen seats are a direct bolt in. Total of (12) 13mm fasteners to remove for the front and rear. If you have power seats now, no problem. It should only take about a hour to make the swap and it would be a good time to clean all the carpet when the seats are out. Did that swap last year with 1995 Z-28 seats into my 87 IROC-Z.

Yep this swap couldnt be much easier, took me and my fiancee less than half an hour to bolt in the 2002 SS seats I bought on ebay. We replaced the carpet, console and headliner at the same time and swapped all the grey interior plastic to black to match the seats... Looks great

could you use the 4th gen seats that are electric if you dont have electric seats now? and would you still be able to adjust the seats?

most cars that didnt come with power seats still had the hook up just check under your drivers seat.(you might have to dig under the carpet) if the connections are not there then the wireing should be.

Saaah-weet!! That just made my day. New seats will be on the way as soon as I get the next paycheck.

Will the rails have to be replaced also?

Sorry, Im not sure how car seats work. Im used to bigass bench seats in my truck (4 bolts for the seats, and 4 huge bolts for seatbelts)...

The seat belts stay in place, and use the rails on the 4th Gen seats. The plastic trim pieces for the seat caps will not work though.
