SBC with geardrive

Hi guys i know that this the lt1 forum but i need a fast answer to my question. I have a sbc with a summit gear drive now my question how do i install the thrust bearing on the locking plate the instruction that came with it does not tell you. when i install the locking plate on put the thrust bearing is it supost to be loose and does it be loose to touch the cover or what i am confused. thanks

Maybe try re-reading and editing your origal post as it is a little "fuzzy" and is hard to understand what the real question is.

Yah, can't tell if your talking about a thrust bearing or a cam button.
The thrust bearing goes between the cam gear and the block (some need machining). And the cam button goes between the cam and the timing cover.
