RPM's in 1st
yea mine seems the same way also, it will hit about 4500 rpms, at the point where it just wont go any faster. than bam it hits second with some nice torque. ive always wondered why does it start to "choke out" or starting slowing down so much in higher rpms?
Are you guys talking about partial throttle or WOT? The trans shifts higher with more pedal. My car, at WOT, doesnt shift until maybe 4700. Thats fine for me, because when it shifts, it puts the engine right back into its powerband. Keep in mind this is a 350 tpi with a 700-R.
Also Kuruption, you have a shift kit, which may affect the fluid pressure/shift point.
zzblackzz, what kind of engine/intake do you have. It is pretty normal for a stock motor, especially tpi, to fall flat on its face at the upper end (4700+).
